"Mr. Handyside has not had much experience, but he gives promise of becoming a very good teacher, His manner and speech are good, and he has given special attention to English Phonetics. I cannot Bay that this has improved his local accent out of existence, but he has a clear and pleasant voice, and he can use it well in class.teaching. He has

energy and good-sense, and his attainments are above the average of teachers in Elementary Schools. He seems to me to be a young man who would make his way successfully in a Colonial post."
